Presidential Leadership Award Nomination

We have nominated Bill Taylor, Move Manger of our Rockford location, for the Presidential Leadership Award.

Each fall, all franchisees send their frontline staff to meet at our home office in Lansing, MI to connect, education, and move all of our staff forward.  All franchisees are given the opportunity to submit nominations. The President's Leadership Award: The President's Leadership Award will be given to an individual who possesses/demonstrates key leadership attributes such as personal development, helping to grow the team, impacting team morale positively, overall attitude, and ensuring the franchise has an overall high rating of customer satisfaction.

We are proud to have Bill as part of our team for over 6 years. Bill excelled as a driver for the Rockford franchise for over four years and has surpassed all expectations as a mover manager for Rockford for over two years.  Bill personifies the definition of leading by example.   Bill won our mover and driver of the year award in both 2013 and 2015.  This award is given to the mover/driver who has the highest customer satisfaction scores for the year.   Currently for 2016 with 236 moves Bill has a 4.86 satisfaction score and a 100 percent referral rate.    As a mover manager Bill is in charge of all  mover/driving training, spot checks, and D.O.T. training.      Bill is also heavily involved in on-sites and has become our go to estimator on any large moves and all our business moves.    Bill is a tireless worker who is always helping out others on their jobs and does not go home until he knows all the jobs are going well for the night.   With an increased emphasis on C.S.A. scores  Bill is assigned most of our long distance moves.   He even missed the birth of his second child in August since he was in the state of Oregon performing a move.    Bill's exceptional all around work has produced great results.   Last year under Bill's leadership Rockford finished with a 4.76 customer satisfaction score and a  97.82 referral percentage.  This year, despite growing over 15 percent, Rockford has maintained excellent service scores 4.79 and a 97.56 referral percentage.

Thank you Bill for all of your hard work and dedication! We couldn't be more proud to have you leading our team.  The winner will be announced at this year's Annual Frontline Meeting in November. Good luck!

Crafting with Boxes for Halloween Costumes

What are you going to be for Halloween?

I have always been a fan of creating costumes.  It is a great opportunity to let your creative juices flow and spend some time with the family!  Visiting your local thrift-shop to find outfits that match your character's theme is not only frugal, it is fun!  You can reuse and re-purpose household items for a mask or accessories.  We love to work with old boxes from deliveries and have even used specialty sized boxes from our office to create different parts of a costume. We have created emojis, app logos of our favorite social media platforms, cars, and characters from our favorite movies from boxes.

Our home office has even created a step-by-step DIY box costume tutorial: DIY Halloween Box Costumes.

Pinterest is also a fantastic way to get some ideas going.  There are many boards dedicated to the construction of costumes from cardboard.  DIY Cardboard Costume

Once you decide what you want to create- You will need to gather the following supplies:
Box cutter*
Hot glue gun
Boxes of various sizes
Acrylic paint
Craft notions: buttons, pompoms, glitter, etc.

*Use caution when using a box cutter- always have the sharp edge pointed away from yourself and cut in a downward motion.

Stop in our office to pick up the boxes you need for your very own DIY Box Costume!
